26 years of HPW: A celebration of partnerships, people and processing at the origin
Together with farmers, suppliers, customers, investors, partners and friends, we celebrated 26 years of HPW under the motto Processing at Source. The event brought together people along the entire value chain to exchange ideas, visit our production facilities and honour long-standing partnerships.
The celebrations began in the factory. The guests were able to experience the care and precision that characterises every single production step. Many were impressed by how much is still done by hand, from cutting to dipping.
A special moment was the visit to the HPW Montessori crèche. What once began as a solution for young mothers has developed into a symbol of empowerment. Women can return to work after maternity leave while their children receive early care and education.

The second day was dedicated to dialogue and encounters. At the Women in Agribusiness and Innovation panel, a clear message was conveyed: Women are crucial to the success of the value chain as decision-makers, farmers and managers. Keynote speaker Eunice Dadzie put it in a nutshell: as soon as women are empowered, the value chain is stable. In the evening, HPW's development from a small pioneering team to a company with over 2,500 employees was celebrated. Founder Hans Peter Werder reminded everyone: " HPW is not me. It is us. It is you.

The third day focussed on the topic of processing at source and its far-reaching effects. Dr Mary Awusi, CEO of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, described HPW as a role model for how exports can create jobs. With over 90 per cent of its production exported, HPW has shown how local processing keeps value where the fruit grows and strengthens regional economies. Leaders and partners from Ghana and Switzerland echoed this message and recognised HPW's pioneering role in sustainable agriculture.

The last day took the celebration back to the origins in the fields. Guests met farmers, harvested pineapples, tasted different varieties and experienced first-hand what it takes to produce the highest quality fruit. It was a day of discovery, connection and gratitude that reminded everyone where HPW's story really begins.

Every moment of this anniversary week showed what makes HPW strong: the people behind the products, the spirit of cooperation and the belief that value should remain where it is created.
We would like to thank everyone who was there for their trust, presence and energy.
Here's to the next chapter and to continuing this journey together.
